"Outlawed???" Maybe you need to check out a college frat party. Ha! Hell, masterbating is a very common topic of conversation around here for both guys and gals. Maybe I just have weird friends

I think I understand what vault86 is getting at. Outside a college campus or some pretty daring tv shows it is pretty much a taboo subject. I'm not sure why, people here in the US aren't as open with their sexuality as in Europe I suppose.

Because people don't like to talk about sex openly or anything to do with it.

"Self abuse" is frowned apon in the bible, and seeing the US is a very religious country, people tend to agree. This is why it is a taboo subject and repressed.

You can't eat all those hamburgers, you hear me you ridiculous man?

Harmless question? Humm...

I think that the USA is a very puritan country, I would even say that there is a lot of repression regarding sexuality. You remember Freud? Guns witch are legion in the US, can be view as Phallic symbol, or expression of repressed sexuality. Open your TV or rent an american movie and you are more likely to see a man unload a gun than his dick. Isn't strange that it's correct to show acts of violence but it's not too show acts of love, or lust?

My friend had this thing he used to do at parties. He'd roll up his left sleeve and flex his forearm for the ladies. Then he'd roll up his right sleeve and do the same because his right forearm was about 50% bigger than his left. It was hilarious. Not that he dated Palmela Handerson more than average, but the implication is there. I really don't think there is much taboo about masterbation nowadays. They even talked about it on the show CSI.

Didn't the movie "The Guru" have a bit about masturbation cut out? I remember because someone mentioned how come "There's Something About Mary" can have have Cameron Diaz and the "hair gel" bit yet The Guru can't have Heather Graham just talking about the act.
And yes there was a seinfeld episode about masturbation, I think it was first series. It was called "The Contest" and was basically about who could hold out the longest without pleasuring themselves. Fantastic episode.
I don't know why its taboo sometimes and not others, the world is a strange place
Edit: When did the IMDB become pop-up city?

tennis player? happened to me a little bit but 50%? that's way too big...maybe like a 15-20% increased mass when specifically flexing the forearm muscle maybe...

and just for the women to take not of....ALL men do it because evolution has made us horny as hell. Anybody who says they dont is a dirty liar because it's uncomfortable to not release it. Like not peeing for instance, but to a lesser degree.

Masturbation is natural. Most common among teenagers. There are no health risks associated with masturbation. Its a healthy way to release tension!

I am a highschool student, and i can for a fact say that when all of my fiends get together we end up talking about it, well mostly about my friend who has NEVER jacked off, and we are 99.99% positive it is true... but yeah we all do the muscle thing, it's funny, because my girlfriend has the biggest one out of all of us, it's hard as a rock.... anyway.... it's a common thing in my age group, just wait till the new generation comes of age, we will be much more liek europe, except for the more conservative parts (whole eastern half of the U.S.)

P.D.

P.S. we joke around with my friend, it's funny, our excuse for whatever he does wrong or wierd is because of "his MASSIVE sperm buildup" we are actually trying to find someone to give him a hand job... it's sad really....

You said you weren't one of the mental masturbaters; therefore you are one of the mental masturbaters, because they would all deny that they were mental masturbaters.

Denial = admission of guilt

I never thought that the easter half of the US as conservative. The 'South-East', sure, but the Norht-East? New York City, the capitol of the US, the free world, if not the entire planet, is far from 'conservative'

But I agree, Masturabtion is often frowned upon and seen as 'taboo'. Guess what I jerk off all the time, just like oevery other duy on the planet.

Here's to jerking off... "Cheers!"

It's not exactly outlawed, but there is definately a hang-up about it. It wasn't that long ago that (former) U.S. Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders lost her position for suggesting that maybe it should be acknowledged in sex education classes that masturbation happens. (Oh no, say it's not so ). Of course, Clinton was well on his way to having his own little problems at the time :o, so that no doubt played a roll in her resignation as well.

Interesting spin.

In all seriousness, I know some girls who do, and some that don't (you're just gonna have to take my word when I say 'I know'... it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how).

They generally look upon it as being extremely 'dirty' when applied to themselves.

Rather curious. The majority that frowns upon it seems rather large; well, minimum 60 versus 40.

I'm wary, however. I do get the impression that the majority that frown upon it are simply ashamed... thats the vibe I get anyway. There's definately a LARGE percent who do not at all; a large percent who do but would never, ever admit it; and then there are the few who do.

Hmmm.

Well, I'm impressed... I managed to talk about female masturbation without using a single smilie

This does my head in. (I've not had had a load of relationships so statistcally I can't say much, but I'd agree with the 60/40 thing.) How do women expect you to please them in bed (or anywhere else) when they don't know how to please themselves? Hmmm!!? I think masturbation should be made complusory in schools.
