For my own education, I am trying to create a point release history for Mac OS X. I would like to ask that people look this over and please post any corrections that should be made. Also, would anyone know that code names for 10.1, 10.0, and the Public Beta? Thanks in advance!
BETTER VERSION BELOW!

There were two versions of 10.2.7. The version of Mac OS X labelled as "10.2.7" was shipped on the first Aluminium PowerBooks. There was also "10.2.7 (G5)". It shipped on the first G5s.
Similarly there were two versions of 10.2.8. The standard version and a G5 version, labelled "10.2.8 (G5)".
The codename for 10.0 was Cheetah, and 10.1 was Puma.

I think that this verison is easier to read. Release dates are from Apple's PR and Download pages and, if not listed there, VersionTracker. I think that build numbers might be interesting to have on this list but I don't want to mess with my perfectly running eMac to get them.

I've decided to go ahead and put this up on my website, even though I still have no solid information on the release date of 10.0.1. I will update it as time goes by and as new point releases of Mac OS X become available. If anyone notices any errors, you can either contact me here or e-mail me at [email protected].

I believe the PB was codenamed Kodiak and had buildnumber 1H39. I think there was a different codename and buildnumber for the public beta released for tier 2 locales, too.

You should know that Mac OS X goes back farther than Apple. Look up the old NextStep versions too (Next Steve's old company, which he founded after he left Apple, then Apple bought Next). You probably know this but I'm just adding my two cents.

I think there were some build trains called Gonzo, Bunsen and Beaker back in the pre-PB days.
