That's exactly what mine says - but then again, I only ordered about 20 minutes ago. Immediate shipping is, perhaps, too much to expect.

Has anyone has a 20" BTO model ship yet?

I'm a bit disappointed that orders placed well after mine have shipped, even if they are 'standard' models.

The delay will simply be caused by the popularity of the 20in model - juding by previous iMac models, the higher end ones are more popular.

So Apple should be prepared for this and have plenty of high end models ready waitng to have BTO bits added, seems simple to me

Maybe because she noticed she could go to an Apple Sore and buy the same computer for $300 less?

Dude, what are you smoking? This is a $1499 computer that is actually shipping and your opening bid is $1699, your buy-it-now is set at $1799. Are you nuts?

Good news. I ordered the same config on the day of the keynote and I'm still waiting. Must be coming soon.

My mom's 17" Combo model shipped on Friday. She ordered the day of the keynote. Unfortunately, she went with ground shipping, so it'll likely be "7-10 business days" before it arrives.

As Think Secret pointed out, Apple is likely trying to ship orders from pallets first, which generally means stock or commonly-ordered configurations.

Was yours a standard setup up or BTO? and when did you order as my 20" BTO is still saying on or before the 30/9 for shipping.

My iMac has shipped but unfortunatley there is no tracking information available.

I get the tracking page, but no updates yet :-(

It also looks like it's shipping from the Netherlands, maybe it's part of a pallet that was shipped there.

Surprise update:

Apparently Apple was courteous enough to speed up the shipping time, since the 17" Combo arrived at my mom's today - talk about quick shipping.

Anyone in the UK who has had an iMac ship today, have you been able to see any tracking information yet?

I still can't see where my shipment is.

Order Date: 09/01/2004 05:04 PM PST
Estimated Ship Date: On or before 10/01/2004

Has anyone received a 20" iMac with Bluetooth and a wireless keyboard and mouse? I haven't been able to find proof that these have shipped yet. Honestly I have no reason to whine until 10/01 but I can't help being jealous of all the people who ordered after me and have received their iMacs already.

Same boat here. Ordered 1.8/20"/250/BT KB morning of keynote. On or before 0929. Still open. Going nuts. Know my order # by heart, checking the status so often.
Anyone know how there production is set up? Is it first come first serve? (not apparently) Or do they only run BTO orders twice a week, or are they relegated to some smaller factory, etc.
Is there a priority in terms of country? Surley Canada is second in line, after the U.S.?

No news on mine yet.

I shipped on Monday 20th, but not in the tracking system yet.

I rang Apple they said it would not show up in tracking until it reached Europe. They said I should expect it to arrive Mon / Tues next week.

i feel like those of us waiting for our 20s are like passengers after a long flight waiting for our luggage to appear on the baggage claim carousel - happy for others when theirs appears but REALLY anxious to get home and unpack.

FWIW... ordered mine on the 31st, still says shipping on or before 9/29.

Georgan - I ordered 9/18 (last Saturday)
def. can't complain about long processing times

----------

in fact I just noticed on the 'invoice' Apple emailed me that the IMac is being sent from Elk Grove, CA.. Somehow I seem to remember that some people said their's was coming directly from Shanghai ...

I suppose that means they all the BTO orders are being built in CA, not at the factory in China?!

I suppose the free shipping they offer (I took that bait, too) will mean trucking from CA to MA now, i.e. 6-7 days, not air from Shanghai which would prob have been faster.
Well, at least I will def. already have my Mem. upgrade from Crucial by then

and again - no reason for complaint since Apple only took 5 days to ship my BTO order to begin with

Mine shipped on the 20th, but still no sign of it in the UK yet.

I called Apple and they say it will be with me Weds Thurs next week.

I did manage to see a base 17" model in Manchester today, WOW.

Looked great, and ran quickly, was fab when I tried Garageband.

Lots of interest from customers, big demand, no stock :-(

I ordered my iMac 1.8 GHz w/20" TFT and 1 GB of ram(I know its over priced) on 8/31/04 at 08:18 AM PST, I received notice that it had shipped 9/14/04 from Shanghai, it finally made it out of Shanghai 9/17/04, and showed up next on 9/18/04 in Memphis TN, from there it was flown to my Southern California city and arrived at 05:56 AM 9/18/04 on a friday. Because I had opted for the free shipping it wasn't loaded on the truck for delivery until 9/20/04 and I signed for it at 12:21 the same day.
Overall I'm happy with the new iMac and the fan noise is minimal, however the speakers are barely adequate and for serious sound I'd recommend external speakers of one brand or another.

I ordered mine the day they came out. My original Shipping date was 9/30. IT SHIPPED TODAY!!! I check my tracking number at FedEx and it said it arrived at Shanghai today. It said the estimated arrival date was Oct 13. How on earth could it take that long.

I guess its on a slow boat FROM china.

This is weird. My order (17, BTO bluetooth) had the same delivery date (Oct. 13), arrived in Alaska yesterday and, according to FedEx, arrived in St. Louis last night, and now is on a delivery truck bound for my house today. But FedEx still says it will be delivered Oct. 13. (I don't think we should pay attention to FedEx's estimated delivery dates, in other words.)

Same here, but is on the truck for delivery in East Lansing Michigan!!!!! All of our systems must have been on the same boat- I hope they bonded with each other...

I'm so excited!!!!

Mine is now delivered, about 10 days ahead of when it was originally scheduled to ship (at the latest). This is very un-Apple-like, but most welcome.

Mine has also been delivered! Wasn't supposed to get here until Oct. 13. Now I must struggle through a day of work.

I'm a bit disappointed that UK shipping is taking so long.

It seems shipments to the USA are much quicker.

My iMac was shipped on the 20th but it has not reached the UK yet.
