Hows about everyone posts the first entry in their library.

This is mine, it is photo #1 of 2446

It happens to be my first digital photo, taken on my first digital camera, back in 2001. It's a pic of my wife, while pregnant with our first born, taken first thing in the morning

looks like this is the first one i snapped outside of testing the camera, of which i have no record, didn't post those. first digicam was a canon S30.

this is the most recent one i have taken (as of 1/30/05, with about 20,000 in between on a Canon D30 and now 20D, a large fraction of which are on my site, http://tjclark.ath.cx/ ), from yesterday afternoon. that's my neck and sweatshirt. note new speaker wire -- i busted out the soldering iron yesterday and gave that pair of headphones a new lease on life with a fresh cord. exposed wires are heat-shrink-wrapped now.

What a fun topic.
This is Lima, Peru; we're repainting the rather dingy house we'd just moved into.
The date on the photo is wrong -- this would be September 2000.

Congratulations, you are very lucky to have such a beautiful wife.

First photo taken on my digital camera in December 2001. This is Dave, a guy that works at the Body Shop. No, I don't know him.

Oh, and despite the fact that iPhoto didn't come out until January 2002, this was still the first pic I put in it.

Dated 1/07/02 according to iPhoto. This was the meagre bar from my junior year on-campus apartment.

I don't usually keep pics in iPhoto. I edit and categorize them by folders later.

looks like a pre-party pic of a tippy cup game, dated Jan 1, 2000, but that isn't right.

'Twas a pic of the homestead, scanned from an old photo.

A picture of my grandson, on his first day, July 30, 2002. I had just bought a Nikon Coolpix 885. I now have 3350 pics in iPhoto, almost half of them of him (he walks around with his eyes permanently blinking )

Why is there always money for war, but none for education?

I've got deeds going back to 1756 for the square bit in the middle. The bit on the left side (you can see the join) and round the back were about 100 years later. That door's not a door - it's got a wall behind it - but was kept like that for "historical display piece" reasons (i.e. nobody could be bothered to remove that large stone lintel).

If it doesn't scare hippies, it's not worth listening to

heh, yeah, its definitely one of my favoriter ones. That shot is a view from an installation called "Somewhere Better Than This Place: Alternative Social Experience in the Spaces of Contemporary Art". It was actually an entire museum full of work on loan from MoMA to kick off the grand opening of our new Contemporary Arts Center, which is freaky looking in it's own way. The NYT did call it the most important architectural achievement of the decade or something though. The architect was an Iraqi chick and all so I'm sure that helped.

Anyway it's just this 10'x10' cluster of these worker bee lookin' kids in numbered uniforms...very Orwellian.

I have many older, but on my current mac, it appears to be my three year old daughter running through rows of lavender in 2002, in the Texas Hill Country. I don't know how to post photos, or organize my digital and non-digital photos. My current Imac is approaching 13,000 photos. Gee, that's a project for some spare time.

This is one of my first, taken back in Dec '01. It's at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii at the USS Arizona. Little tiny Oil Bubbles still leak from the ship's fuel to this day and when they come to the surface they form tiny little oil rainbows in the water. Very poignant if you ever get to see it.
