I am pretty sure that I will be buying a Powerbook (although I have not yet decided on a model). One of the things that I want to do with it is record the voice of my 18 month old daughter, but I do not know how to select a microphone to record her with.

Can anyone suggest a microphone to me, or tell me what I should be looking for in one? I want good sound, since this will be listened to for years to come.

You do know that the PB has an internal mic right. It does a decent job for me but I could see why you would want better sound if this is going to be a keepsake.

My experience with the built in microphones are not good ones. They are good enough for goofing around but not for anything important.

I've played around with the USB headsets (Plantronics, GN Netcom) and they do record nicely, though on the pricey side. I've not yet tried Logitech's USB microphone, but they should be just as good.
