yeah, i caught the same tour in NYC. Franz was f*cking amazing. one of the best shows i've seen. and they played for almost 2 hours. death cab, eh... they're not my favorite, and the show didn't really change that. I liked it a bit better than their recorded stuff, but that calm music just doesn't lend itself to performance, so they got completely upstaged by Franz (who went first).

I missed Arch Enemy's show here last Sunday; I have way too much CFA reading left to do.

Although, I saw them at Ozzfest last summer, so it kind of balances out, I guess.

I really, really would like to see In Flames again.

Like others, I went to the Death Cab for Cutie/Franz Ferdinand show earlier this month. It was outstanding. I was particularly impressed by the Death Cab show - they played a wide selection of their music (even songs from Something About Airplanes, mind you) and it was great hearing it all live.

This past weekend I attended Austin's annual Reggae Festival (aka - Marley Fest) and it rocked. So many interesting people there. Granted, most of them were high, but they still had a story to tell.

Beyond that? I'll be going to Beck's concert here in town come June - and the only shows I know of beyond that are the ones that will be held at the great Austin City Limits Music Festival come this September.

do you know if Beck is touring, or if it's just a single show? I might have to check that out of he's coming 'round these parts.

saw lucero and avail on friday and sunday respectively last weekend. both were good. lucero was a bit more drunk than did them good, and the musicianship suffered a bit. avail was a good time, they can still bring it with little weakness.

this weekend is alkaline trio and against me!, twice even. friday in cleveland and sunday in the detroit area. should be a good time.

Placebo. Their new album is sensational.

Maybe Coldplay.

That's this year's Lollapalooza lineup.

Next show for me is Nickel Creek at the 9:30 Club. Not sure after that...

Lucky man. I would love to see them.

I`m hitting up the Summer Sonic rock fest in Osaka in August. Quite the line up.

I saw The Pixies not that long ago... though turned down a chance to see Toto in Hiroshima. I think it was the best choice all around.

Usually we don't have really big names coming to Calgary; but once in a while it happens. Like I saw Diana Krall twice.

So, I go see some plays and this weekend I am going to the Ballet.

I attend shows at the Caspar Inn on a pretty regular basis. Tons of music that goes through there.

I also went to Sierra Nevada World Music Festival.

Hopefully, I will be attending Earthdance in a couple of weeks.

I remember seeing her once about ten years ago, before her career really boomed.

The black jazz singer she opened for back then (unfortunately, I've forgotten her name) completely smoked her over and back. Way better.

I have no idea what happened to boost Krall's career, but it ain't right.

I'm missing Guster, Tracy Bonham, Tom Petty, and LOADS of others since I'm not going to make it to the Austin City Limits fest.
