I read somewhere that there is a way to set my computer to skip the memory test during the start up process. I searched the forum but I couldn't find it. Does anyone know how to do this? I believe that there is a key combination in the memory control panel that brings up a dialog box to turn off this test but I don't remember it.
Thanks

Hold down the Option and Command (Apple) keys while double clicking the Memory
control panel - an extra feature appears in the window allowing you to shut off the
startup check.
If you're looking to gain speed at startup, I only gained a second or two after
turning it off however.

Well, thanks for the tip but what a waste. When I originally read about this it seemed like it would save a lot of start up time. NOT!! I didn't notice any difference. If there was one, I'm sure I'd need a stop watch to be able to notice.
Thanks again.

That's why its a hidden feature...only RAM freaks with over a gigabyte of memory would notice much difference. I still have it off, since when I had bad RAM w/numerous symptoms the memory test still checked it out fine. Whatever.
