and THAT is why you're a country of socialist bottom-feeders.
Or, are both of us wrong in our statements? Maybe we're just calling each other names to make us feel better? Maybe you're saying such things to make up for insecurities?
Interesting...

I wouldn't say majority, but many many many are. I guarantee that George W. Bush wins half of his votes from the southern part of the U.S. (or below the bible belt) by saying god in his speeches. It's so obvious that he's an idiot, yet these people are too focused on "getting into heaven" that they forget they're electing someone who doesn't follow the priciples of our nation and who takes a flourishing, prospering nation and is quickly turning it into an environmentally unsafe, bankrupt, military-warlord nation.

The issue that the Canadians seem to be able to grasp, and that most Americans can't (or, more correctly, don't want to), is that religion should have nothing to do with a state issued license.

Why is there always money for war, but none for education?

THANK YOU!!!! This is what I've been trying to explain to people, but as you said (and that most Americans can't or, more correctly, don't want to) which is true. Americans are destroying their nation because of their strong religious beliefs. Some might say, "I'm proud to be an American." I, on the other hand, am ashamed.

Insecurities? If I was so insecure I wouldnt be 'out' now would I? Or standing up for equality rights. The true insecure people are the ones throwing a hissie fit over two consenting adults making a decision to unite their love in an age old practice of love and security.

Funny boy. And no, I won't "shut up", just deal with it. Though, I am going to bed now, but I'll continue in this thread some time tomorrow.
PS. Also, if you weren't so ignorant, you'd know that I'm not against you in this discussion, I'm more on the side of same sex marriage/civil union than you could even imagine. There are reasons for this, some people on MacNN know why, but you obviously don't. What I'm trying to do is explain why this issue is looked upon with ill-favor by most, but you've jumped to conclusions and marked me as a target for you ire. Careful though, I do bite back.
BTW, "Micma goho Mad zir comselha zien biah os londoh" isn't Hebrew, not by a long shot.

Funny how it only works one way with some people.
It's easy to be open minded about stuff you agree with. That isn't being open minded or tolerant.
Tolerance isn't agreeing with a person's beliefs.
Tolerance is how you treat those you disagree with. You seem to like to treat them with contempt.
Not very tolerant of you.
So how does one expect to be treated with respect and tolerance, when said person doesn't practice it himself?

He isn't ignorant. And if he was, it would have nothing to do with him being Christian.
You are spreading hate speech.
What you are saying about Christians is nothing short of what the KKK says about minorities.
Almost word for word.

kmkkid report me.
They will probably tell you that you derailed your own thread through your outrageous statements. Like they have me before.
You can't say such things, and then expect people to just ignore it and not respond.
And when they do respond, you cannot throw a tantrum when it's not going your way and demand people to stop.
And your singling out of those derailing. SWF derailed in his FIRST post. You said nothing.
The mods look at that sort of thing too you know. Many times I have reported someone only for a mod to say well "such and such was being just as bad, why didn't you report him too?"
You are trying to play the victim. When your face is just as dirty.

We can't make the churches, but making a law against same-sex marriages is bringing church and state together. And plus, what is the reason for most Americans not wanting to allow gays to marry?
SuperNova
Au contraire, mon frere. This nation was NOT founded on the actuality of "all mean are created equal". I belive it was only the white, wealthy land-owning men who were considered equal. How many black men, or black women, would have considered themselves "equal" when this country was founded? How many white women would have considered themselves "equal" when this country was founded?
I am not arguing with your stance on same-sex marriage--I still think they should be called civil unions, though--merely pointing out the fallacy in your logic. This country was NOT founded to provided equal rights to all so the fact that we are not providng equal rights to a segment of our society is not in the least bit surprising to me.
