Apple has it so you can block someone who just called. But how do you block someone who has not called in awhile, but is now bothering you on Facebook let's say? You have the number, can you manually enter in the block?

Ive heard that trick Andi, amazing, you are going to add someone you loathe to your contacts?.. Do you have to keep them there forever or just temporarily?

You would think the trillion dollar company would have a field to just enter a new number and click block would you not?

thanks I'm assuming you have to be bothered first, no way to proactively block, except for adding the person..

Yeah Noah I know that. missing whole point of question, is that one cannot block someone (apparently) unless have have a call or text on hand now. No ability to manually enter a phone number which id pretty odd...

Make them a contact. Then block them. People are telling you how.

Indeed, that would be good to know.

Please report back after you’ve tried it.

s

I can’t let you know because that’s another problem with the block system, which is actually more significant than the one I’m posting about now, in that it requires actually another post, if you have like 1000 people blocked they don’t have a search function so the only people who can test this is someone who only has a handful in there

You're blocking 1000 numbers?

please don't start another thread you already did that a while back!

Most people don't block 1000 numbers, so I don't think it presents a real use case for Apple to implement a search function like you want. The real spammers change their number each time, so there is no point blocking them.

Put yourself on donotcall.gov. This takes care of the legit charities etc who have your number.

Then, as I've said before, get Youmail. Just fricking do it. You can even assign your stalker a special voice mail message with youmail.

Maybe it’s only three or 400 Robo calls, but still you can’t find anything there no search function which is the second problem with blocking on iPhones you can’t unblock anyone because you can’t search

Thanks ANdi, if you have 400 people in there how find who to unblock? You scroll through 400? Pretty grueling.. Don't think there is search there.

Just delete them all. Seriously, in the time we've spent here, you could have done it!

then install youmail!

Machavez, excellent suggestion, except IIRC Kevs needs his line open for new business calls.
