yea im having trouble deciding between a dell or apple monitor. Apple is so expensive.

Heh, funny you say that, as I am buying a dell next weekend! 20" should work fine with a macbook :]. I havn't had a dell before, but I recommend getting one anyway as they are so much cheaper, and they are made by LG, so any queries about it being a 'dell' have gone, as it isnt made by them!

yea im thinkin about the dell too. i believe its 359 or something like that for the 20'' ultrasharp. are you going to be getting an apple keyboard and mouse or a different brand?

Yeh I'll probs end up getting the wireless keyboard and mighty mouse, but the dell ultrasharp 2007wfp looks like a right treat for £330. It'd be better to get all the apple stuff, but apple can be a right rip off sometimes, and that dell monitor is very sexual so thats why I'm going for that instead!

Well I think I'm just going to get the ACD 23''. Yes it is over priced but I want to keep my whole setup apple. Plus it looks so darn nice. Im not trying to take anything away from the dell I'm sure its a great monitor.

If Apple doesn't offer a new line of Cinema Displays or lower prices by the first day of summer, I'm going to buy a HP or Dell display. Apple's are way overpriced these days. They're spiffy monitors, but the design is nearly three years old and it needs an update. Prices need to drop by at least 25% if the displays aren't going to be refreshed.

Suggested updates would be HDCP support, more USB ports, built-in cameras and higher resolution: Mac Pros will soon have Blu-ray drives and the displays will need HDCP to play movies at full resolution. A gain of just one USB port is ridiculous when most good monitors offer three or more. Cameras are in all MacBooks so I expect them in Cinema Displays. Leopard is going be resolution independent, so it's time for high resolution displays.

Apple used to be the leader in display technology, but they've fallen back.
