The future is in "green" products. I just recently built an evironmentally friendly house (passive solar, geothermal heat-air, stuctural insulated panels, bamboo floors, etc) and I really believe the residential housing market is about to make a big turn toward this way of building. Many of the products I used are starting find a big demand.
Construction products will always be needed. Look for companies that are on the forefront of environmental conservation, and I think you will find a secure and rewarding future.

work for Nashville Fire. It's one of the highest paying jobs in the southeast (firewise).think about it. Where else can you have a fulltime job that you work one day and your off for two? Where else can you hang out and play around all day until someone calls...and everyone likes a man/woman in uniform....
Nashville FD or Franklin are some of the top FD's in the nation and you can specialize in whatever it is you want, fires, search and rescue, extrication, swift water rescue, ropes, computer stuff....it's endless and always different and exciting....I love this job and it's the greatest ever...How many people do you know that love their job that they are excited to go to work? Everyone thats a FF I know loves the job
It's the ultimate rush...BStone can agree with me.

I will admit that I have little personal experience with fire fighting. Many, many of my fellow EMTs are also fire fighters. For whatever reason I cannot think that it is a wise idea to run into a burning building. The idea of burning alive is not my idea of a good time.
That said, every fire fighter I know LOVES what they do. The specializations are pretty cool. The only frustration I know of is moving from state to state. I know one guy who is a Fire Fighter 3 with an Associate of Applies Science in Fire Science. He moved to a different state and had to start at square 1.

I believe that they make $22 an hour, I don't know how much they work though. Here is the Apple retail employment site, check it out. They don't include all of the info that they used to though, they just redesigned it: Apple - Positions

That too. Chances are if you're reduced to working in retail you're not worth very much, though

Another thought... sell drugs.
Seriously, drug companies like people who are clean-cut and good with people. All the drug companies train their people and you don't deal with the general public. The pay can be very good.

It varies between the mini store and a full size store.

I really wich Apple Stores had been around while I was in college. I could have been a Mac Genious instead of an ostracized Apple Technician at a CompUSA. And I would have been paid better too...
