If anyone is interested, Victor Yee and I have put-together an AppleScript/Applet to delete preference files in one easy click!
Please look at the Read Me before using.
There is a run-only version and the script - which is editable. Feel free to use/distribute/change as you like, but if you alter it, make appropriate changes to the Read Me file.
Send any thoughts/suggestions!

You can download from my idisk: thebeatles / Public Folder / Preference Cleaner.
If you don't have OS 9.x, e-mail me and I'll send it to you.

Scott

The new "Trash Prefs" applet is available on the following iDisk:
"thebeatles" in the Public folder.

Please take a look - this helpful and FREE bit of work can save you some time and frustration while troubleshooting your Mac!

Goto: http://itools.mac.com/WebObjects/Too...u/5.0.5.14.4.0

Type in the iDisk name: thebeatles
It will mount the folder on your desktop.

You musta sent them the one with the "trash hard drive" option!

We *fixed* that!

It's a joke folks, really.

Scott

PS - you can see how it works without losing your pref's - just run it and put your pref's back when done (they're in the trash)
