In local news...

From here
ST. MARY'S POINT, Minn. -- She wasn't old enough to vote or to legally hold office, but 17-year-old Erin Feehan-Nelson did get a few votes in the St. Mary's Point mayoral race.

Feehan-Nelson received national media attention for wanting to become the youngest elected mayor in Minnesota.

The high-school senior received 42 write-in votes. City Council member Don Jones got 196 votes.

Feehan-Nelson said she's proud of what she accomplished.

Her eight-year-old sister prepared a victory card just in case she won. Instead, she received a handmade sympathy card that read: ``Bummer Dude!''
