the above item did not install when I tried to add older support for 10.6 install

cant say where it came from, rossetta? but I installed 10.6 plain and then went back and installed the 'other stuff' and this came up again and again as it could not install

'try again or contact vendor'

what is it what what might it do? would it effect other stuff?

I hope to keep THOTH and HourWorld working under rossetta

cheers and hope your 10.6 went well!

I still have to deal with EyeTV a Big one for ME!

It's for WIBU-KEY dongles under Classic. Since there is no more Classic, any Classic extension can be removed. There should be no effect.

Classic has nothing to do with Rosetta.

It's there because something you installed put it there.

I have downloaded and installed the Snow Leopard 10.6.1 update and the latest HP Printer drivers for Snow Leopard as well, the later I was not able to install cause I had this message coming up:

Telling me that the extension "/System/Library/Extensions/WkClassicNotSeizeDriver.kext" was not correctly installed so it can't been used. Advising me to install it again or to get in contact with the developer for an update.

My guess is such has something to do with the Classic environment (oh snap!), which is not present under Snow Leopard.

I had to force quit from the HP Drivers installer since that message was randomly showing up, albeit a restart seems to have preventing it from showing up again.

Thoughts?

Canon scanner? My GF has the same issue and I'm pretty sure we worked out it was a driver for a Canoscan.

That one is not a Canon scanner extension. Canon's is called CNQL1208_ClassicNotSeize.kext or something similar. Canon just updated many of their drivers. Check for a new SL version.
