Can I unplug the iPod from charging after 1 hour? I just got myn and I have been charging it for about an hour and it says it takes 1 hour for 80%, and 4 hours to fully charge. Do I need to wait for fully charge on first charge or not?

Fully charging and discharging the battery the first time or two is a good idea in order to calibrate and "prime" the battery.

How do I discharge the battery?

I let it go to 80%, then I took it off and fooled around for about 5 mins and set it back and now its fully charged....

Well that's not really discharging the battery, is it?

You can fully discharge it by.. playing it until it quits and shows "low battery"
