OK, so the presidential debate was tonight. How can I (or anyone) capture the RTSP stream that is currently up at cspan.org? It's not good quality, the live streamed one was better, but I don't know where else it's being streamed.

(P.S no politics please, just video downloads)

Use a download manager... many DlM's can handle rtsp streams just fine. I use NetTransport, but I don't know if it works for Mac... should be one that does the job, though...

If the file it downloads is a tiny little file, just open it in a plain text editor, it will contain a url to the real file which you can then download.

Thanks, I'm using that program now. I just went downstairs to the lab machine. Easy. I'll put it on my iDisk when it's done.

I think the quality of this CSPAN one sucks though so any other versions would be nice.

OK, here it is. Thanks for your help. I guess the quality isn't so bad now that I see it downloaded. It's actually better than what was streaming to begin with.
