I go straight to the front page right now. Have you tried it lately? Maybe it was a DNS glitch or something...

It's working properly now.

I don't believe in glitches. It had to have been caused by a person making a mistake. Highly unlikely that a hardware error could cause it.

Not a hardware error, but perhaps a lag in updating DNS information-or in it propagating slowly. Either way, the "glitch" happens when the wrong data is available when requested. Not "human error" at all in this case, just a bad roll of the HTML dice.

People seem to forget that MacNN never makes mistakes.

Not all faults are human-caused either. Plus it may be that it was completely out of MacNN's hands-since I couldn't reproduce the issue, there's no way for me to do anything more than theorize.

While I do hear you...

I still cannot remember a time on here where a mod or MacNN site related person ( who contributes to the running of the site ) admits making a mistake...

I guess that's just down to it not being a human error this time...

I make mistakes all the time-and fess up regularly. It's called "being human" coupled with "being an adult." Responsibility and all that. In this case, I merely suggested a possible reason for the incorrect linkage. I have no clue what actually happened, and since there is no real overlap between management of the forums and of the front page, I really don't have a way to find out, either.
