Might sound silly, but can a Mac user play on the same dedicated server as a Windows user? Not really sure how this stuff works tbh!

The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.

Yeah, PC and Mac players can co-habitate on the same server. Macs can even serve! I ran a Minecraft server in 2010-2011.

Oh cool, cos running a server is the ultimate goal to be honest I've played one a friend's server, and thought the idea was nice to have my own But what did you buy to host the server? I was reading this 1&1 guide and it says:
"If the aim is to make the server easily available and to accommodate a large number of players, then opting to rent a Minecraft server often proves to be a good option. Rented servers are permanently available and have the robust computing capacities at their disposal needed for larger-scale multiplayer Minecraft gaming."
So...does that mean the price will go up, depending on how many players are using my server? And will people pay me to join? Or is it like...kindness of my heart

That article doesn't mention the paid servers by name, but yes, those packages vary by bandwidth, number of users, etc.
If you host yourself, the cost is bandwidth.

Interesting. I'd imagine only 5-6 people would join my server, so I guess middle option would be fine. Cheers!
