It's out now. It's rather large but looks great.

I saw. And it was good.

Seriously, I don't even care about the size. This is just the perfect game for an iPhone.

yeah except its over 700MB and it requires 1.5 to install. That's a little too big for my liking.

Is there really anybody who has an iPhone or iPod Touch and not played Myst in one of its infinite previous releases?

I stand corrected. I guess I'm just getting old. I thought everybody had played Myst by now.

I think I'll stick with RealMYST on my desktop. It's been awhile since I've played...I've thus far only been able to solve one of the puzzles.

Also: MYST is available for the DS. It's not great, but it also won't use up a huge chunk of storage on your iPhone.
Sell or send me your vintage Mac things if you don't want them.

I'm just about old enough but I've never played it before either (other than demos of some of the later versions).

Well, kinda.

I bought it in 1993/4(?) to play on my Color Classic.

I still have the game in the original box. I gave up after several hours of bored frustration.

I really hate senseless puzzles. Sorry, but turning on random garden lamps in an exact but meaningless order isn't a "brain teaser"; it's pointless annoyance.

Played? Yes. Beat? No.

See, when I'm at home on my computer, a 1993 puzzle game isn't very high on my list of games I want to play, even though I love it very much.
Now that it's on my iPod touch, I can play it on the road and such and maybe, possibly beat it. I know I got to two of the other worlds in previous play-throughs of Myst...

I mostly enjoyed the Myst series.

Original: Finished (with the help of a guide book). I'm hoping to redeem myself with the iPhone version.
Myst 2: Finished with no guides.
Myst 3: Finished with no guides.
Myst 4: Never finished.
Myst 5: Tried to start, but was incompatible with the stock graphics card in the G5 I owned at the time. They went completely CG with this one, which totally stunk. Not a good way to finish.
I gotta have more cowbell.
