I have two 250 GB externals. Now I may need two more. Any cons on that to the system besides needing another FW Hub? thanks.

None that I know of.

I've been running multiple (4) 120GB external drives for a few years now.

Get a single enclosure for all your drives.

Good to hear. I ask cause i remember some tech guy at Lacie or somewhere saying to unplug a HD if it's not being used as it taxes the system or something, or I think it slows down reboots, no? the system has to identify them all?
