my son gave me a cd with some home movies
now, i wish to down load the latest by bit torrent
but quicktime wont play the downloaded movies
i use transmission ( a very friendly mac program)
but it not let me view it
what am i doing wrong?

To play these home movies, you need to look at the file extension. Transmission is just for downloading, not playing.

If quicktime won't play it, MPlayer OSX will play many file formats.

If you want to convert the movies to store in iTunes or share on iPad or Apple TV, you need to convert them with something like Handbrake. Handbrake requires you to have VLC installed.
I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....
