Hi, I want to broadcast an internet radio stream at my school. I'm working on a project to create a student-managed internet radio station. Any suggestions, or pro's and cons for different software we could use for this? Most of our school computers are running Mac OS X 10.4.?

SHOUTcast is free.
Nicecast is easy to use.

How many users do you expect to have?

I think I would have a few hundred users.

That's manageable with just about any somewhat modern Mac as the server. The clients can use iTunes to listen.

I do have another question. I'm trying to find out if we can get royalties waved for when we broadcast from my school. Does anyone know how I can contact the RIAA? There is no info on their website!
