It's not me. I've got just the one account and no more. I'm far to busy to be creating new accounts. The majority of my time is spent in my island stronghold, counting my gold while two half-nekkid boobie-chicks fan me with palm fronds and my half-chimpanzee house boy Raul runs to fetch more grapes for me and my guests. Well, he would if he was any sort of decent chap, that's for sure.

Just to be clear, the "Nemo me impune lacesset" in my sig has nothing to do with those wacky Scots and the Order of Whatever It Is I Can't Recall But Includes The Royals So I Don't Care Anyway, but is an homage to the first American Marines. I just prefer the latin (and the fact that people have to look it up and maybe, just maybe, learn something).

I may have asked you before, but is Gaelic one of the hundreds of languages you speak?

As I've been reading through this, I couldn't help but feel that he is involved in this somehow. In fact I was going to PM TI applauding him on his explanation on why he is keeping the thread alive and suggest he must be taking lessons from DH.

I haven't seen him (DH) post in the Lounge in ages (I think I scared him off after accidentally semi-stalking him after we met at the '07 MWSF), and this smells like his type of shenanigans.

If it's not DH behind the long-time-gone-macnn-lounge-zaniness one of the other MacNN God(s) must be involved.

DH and I have always been (at least it seems so to me) rather like minded in style and humor. Kind of odd, given that we never actually interacted that much. A few PM's here and there over the years, and maybe a couple of two or three conversations (literally) over AIM, but that's about it. I haven't been posting recreationally like I used to back in the day. For a long time I just had way too much going on to spend time being clever for you lot. If you dig through the archive you'd see that I've always written like that. The only real difference is that now I'm prettier. Well, that and I have more free time these days. But mostly I'm just prettier.

I wasn't kidding, I really do have just the one account. There was a time many moons ago where myself and three other members were accused of being one person using multiple accounts, but we actually were all our own unique and individual snowflakes.

How exactly does one accidentally stalk someone?

Well, lets just say having worked for "Worst Buy" for several years, a lot of my social skills had lapsed.

As a result, my attempt to be friendly and sociable,I came through (I think) as more of a crazed fan persona.

That being said, can you blame me: The guy could lock a thread so humorously, I'd practically be ROFLing!

Sea, go dearfa.

And since this thread is now about life, sockpuppets, and everything else (thank you for the Oxford comma in the thread title, by the way), I’ll also just mention that knowing Gaelic, while completely useless for me up until now, has now landed me a spot on national Irish television!

Independent Pictures make a travel show for TG4 called Thar Sáile, and they’ll be doing Copenhagen in a few weeks—so I’m being interviewed as a local who speaks Gaeilge and will get the chance to introduce Gaeilgeoirí all over Éirinn to student life in this lovely city.

Hm. Now with that choice of words, I’d be more inclined towards toothpick_charlie. Unless you were deliberately trying to be deceptive by altering your regular posting style as much as possible, in which case I’d have to go with Salty.

Empuzzlement … Bugger. Google just shattered my illusions that no one else had ever come up with that word. Boo.

Heck, why not. I prolly dislike the British more than TI does, what with having to deal with the buggers on a daily basis and all that.

Doof's First Rule of Britishness, otherwise known as
"<uncouth word beginning with "C", rendered in the plural> and <British version of "donkeyorifices">".
Also known in polite company as "the 95% rule". Yes. 95% of Brits are Cs or As. Sometimes both. Get the venn diagrams out.

I’m flattered you consider me capable of such complex thought processes as multiple-user dialogues (monologues?), but I fear your estimation is somewhat exaggerated—I’m fairly certain I’d have busted myself long before this by accidentally posting something from the wrong account, if it had been me. Which it isn’t (just in case someone was considering retorting with an, “Ah, you see—he never denied it”).

The first hint should be the (correct—I think) use of ‘astern’, which would never have happened had it been me, for the very simple reason that nautical terms are completely closed land to me. I have no idea which is the bow and which is the stern on a ship, nor which is the galley and which is the gunwhale. Port and starboard? Nonsensical terms.

If I found myself on a ship under attack and the captain yelled, “All men to the aft starboard”, I’d probably be so flummoxed as to whither I should direct myself that I’d end up just jumping in the water, to be on the safe side.

The use of a word that doesn't exist tipped me off. Oisín would never talk like that unless he was nervous about being found out. Your deceit has be revealed!!!
Did you catch the white text?

Yes, but in order for Tiocfaidh ár to fit, you’d have to accept fitting in with other people on an idealistic basis, to allow yourself to be limited to the level of others. This would be highly uncharacteristic of the Doofy I know.
