I have a simple network of two computers: an emac 1.25 and a mac mini core duo. Both have airport installed. I am also connected to a Motorola sb900 combination router and cable modem. The question is if I lost internet connection the two computers should still speak to each other, am I right?

Unfortunately, at times when there is no internet connection the computers cannot communicate. I am doing something wrong?
Thanks.

What's happening is that the router portion of your modem/router is stopping. Just unplug the power for a (timed) minute or two and plug it back in. That should fix it.
