Problem: Invalid extent entry, 80069, 897

hello,
i'm having this problem with one of the volumes on my computer. each time i check it (using DFA 8.6 --latest version), it reports this error on one of my volumes:
Problem: Invalid extent entry, 80069, 897
i have no idea where the problem is comming from. i shut down my computer last night, and this mornign when i boot it up (in 9.1), i saw one of the volumes missing from my desktop. so naturally i poped open Disk First Aid, which listed my other 4 volumes correctly (with their correct icons), and then 5th volume with a generic HD icon -- which i correctly presumed was my missing disk. After running "Repair" on that disk, it mounted sucuessfully on my desktop.
i then quit DFA.
But each time I run DFA again, i get the "Problem: Invalid extent entry, 80069, 897". I can still acess the 4GB of files & apps on teh drive. but when i try to boot up my comp on that disk, i see the floppy disk w/ a flashing question mark....
anyone ever seen this before. I find it very ood that i can use all the apps on the disk, yet not boot from it.

You neeed to rebuild your HD with somethink like DiskWarrior or TechToolsPro. Make sure that you have a version of the software that gives you an OS you can boot from with your computer, the restart from the CD and run the application. DiskWarrior is particularly good with the kind of problem you're reporting.

You have OS 9.1 right? Yeah, thats what caused it.
Either go back to 9.04 or do a full install from the CD of 9.1, not using the downloaded updater.
Yoyo is right, use DiskWarrior. It rocks.

indulge me on a small detour here:
when i partition, will i get multiple HD icons apppearing on my desktop? it's obvious i've never done this before.
