I have three printers, 1 Epson 1270 connected to my G4 via USB, a Epson 3000 on ethernet, and a HP 6mp also via ethernet.

Ever since I upgrade to 9.1 I cannot print. I have reinstalled all drivers, even reinstalled PressReady, but when I hit print, I get a dialog box saying I have to choose a printer from the chooser before I can print! Even if I don't print through PressReady and use the native driver to the printer I get the same dialog box, which leads me to believe its something to do with the OS.

Again I didn't have this problem with 9.0.4.

I went to the Apple website for some help on OS 9.1 and several people had the same problem. The solution was lucikly an extension. By lucky I mean all I had to do was disable the MenuFonts extension installed by Suitcase 9 and all is working again.

I thought I had to wait for new drivers to be released by Epson. Everything is OK now with OS 9.1 again.

Camali,

You're the best! Your fix worked for me as well. iMac DV using a Lexmark Z32.

Thanks!

The quick fix that is offered on this page didn't work for me. I don't have an extension called menufonts, so I can't disable it. Any other suggestions. Even with my extensions off, I get the same message about the chooser.

Please help.

I'm haveing the same problem with my Canon BJC-8200. Whenever I restart, the Chooser forgets the printer and i have to turn it off and on for it to show up.

Is everyone having this problem or is it just with USB printers?

I don't have any of the extentions you mentioned installed.
