Personal whoops time.
A friend of mine took his Jaguar XJR/15 to Goodwood Festival of Speed. On the Saturday he drove it up the hill, on the Sunday he watched live online from home as his son had a go.
24 year old + friends to show off to + 400BHP race car + small mistake
£1.2million car hits barrier.
Was with hime today. Looks like around £50-100Ks worth of damage to the front end. Mostly rebuilding carbon fibre parts.
Dang!
Did they bring it back at the end just to rub it in?
I think Ducky just barely escaped injury by whatever mashed that windshield, rather than being the cause. That looks an awful lot like what a deer or pedestrian would do to a car.
A sack of cement on the windshield of a moving car would be a pulverised, bloody mess all over the inside of the car, with little of the windshield left in place.

Depends on how fast the car is going, and whether it’s a 20lb versus 80lb bag.
The way there is all that broken glass on the hood, I think it was something that happened right there. No clue what though.
I remember thinking that wasn’t glass on the hood, but I didn’t investigate too closely. I was a touch nervous about someone thinking I was responsible.
Edit: some argue fake because of “why were they filming” reasons. Also, people think the tires disappearing at the end is odd. That seems like a reflection thing to me, and car vending machines are unusual enough it’s not totally out there someone would film one in operation just for the hell of it.

The battery in my iPhone 5 swelled up enough to raise the back of the phone past the bezel, and that half-freaked the service guy. I think he was picturing the videos of those early vape pens just exploding in a guy’s pocket.
This level of battery hijinks has to have been a spectacle.
That's one impressive battery. I've had swollen ones before, though never that much. One killed my first dashcam. Pity - I liked that cam. My latest dashcams are capacitor models.
It appears to have taken place in 2013 in Wisconsin for Google purposes.
It does look like they’re doing some plane to plane stunt, but FWIU, the plan was for the parachutists in each plane to meet up and do a formation (they were all pros).
The most plausible explanation I heard is the pilot of the trailing (camera) plane screwed up. They got above the lead plane and lost visual contact. Rather than circle around and regain visual, they dropped altitude and… woops! This was just Reddit talk, though. The couple stories I read from the time were mum.
Edit: the camera plane hits the lead plane at an angle, so maybe the pilot was turning, but lost altitude. The lead plane could also be increasing altitude to get back above the camera plane.
Also, one of my favorite parts of this clip, which I don’t really understand the physics of, is the sky somehow flipping from concave to convex.
Edit 2: I guess it’s just the parachutist tilting their head.

What made it more difficult is the jump from total chaos, to it suddenly feeling like I’m playing Ace Combat, and there’s a MiG-17 over there with no wing.
FWIU, the skater ultimately realized he was an idiot. Both in terms of how easily he could have been killed, and being a massive danger to pedestrians.
Some mad skills, though.
Edit: the part which scares me the most is when he hooks onto the car, and starts slaloming right next to the curb kerb.
