Damn Democrats!
Democrats close Senate to push war probe
Deal struck to advance investigation on prewar intelligence
Tuesday, November 1, 2005; Posted: 8:12 p.m. EST (01:12 GMT)
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Democrats forced the Senate into a closed session Tuesday to pressure the Republican majority into completing an investigation of the intelligence underpinning the 2003 invasion of Iraq
(...)
Bond said the panel's 2004 report found no indication that the mistaken assumptions about Iraq's weapons programs were the result of political pressure.
"Even after they signed on to that, they contend that somehow this intelligence was misused," he said.
Responding to that argument, Durbin told CNN, "This is a different question: Once they received the intelligence, did members of the administration accurately and honestly portray it to the American people?"
So?
Once they received the intelligence, did members of the administration accurately and honestly portray it to the American people and the rest of the world?

Thank god this Dem Senator had the guts to ask for the truth...the Rep. flipped out because now they will have to tell it. God forbid. Now those soldiers who died may have died for a personal vendetta and a freedom that was never in jepordy. They are the real victims of this war just because someone tried to kill his daddy. Man this president has to go. Cheany first, Rove, then Bush.

We still have Democrats?
I reckon in a few more years they'll be completely extinct.

This is ridiculous. What are we going to argue about in the lounge if someone actually figures out what the facts were? As it is, we're free to believe in chemical weapons stockpiles that were spirited out of Iraq, and into Syria, overnight. Or we can believe in mysterious, too-secret-to-disclose links between Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden. How about a top-secret nuclear program for which "the smoking gun may be a mushroom cloud" (paraphrasing Condi)?
Taking all our conspiracy theories away is like telling us Santa Claus doesn't exist. Republicans: stand up for what is right, and prevent these literal-minded Democrats from exposing the truth! At all costs!

So 20-20 hindsight?
What did we know WHEN?
What were the condidtions of the ceasefire from the 1st gulf war.
So saddam violated the terms, and was forced via invasion into compliance/removal.
At the time the decisions were made, our Intel community was crap.
garbage in Garbage out.
Our "allies" were also lying to us, so they could keep getting the oil for food bucks.
Where was our intel?
Look at the politics of those IN the intel community.
Same for the Department of Snake...Oh, I mean state.
Who else besides your intel community are you supposed to go to for info?
The whole democrat scheme was to divert attention from the Supreme Court stuff anyway.
WHO would they call as witnesses?
Clinton?
Tenent?
Not them, they were spouting the same stuff based on the same crappy intel.

If owning a mac means being a tree-hugging liberal - then I'll stick with this circa 1999 Celeron466.

Aww c'mon. The Spliff is okay. Embrace the Spliff. Love the Spliff.
I think The Gadster is uptight because there's an Aussie getting arse-raped in Gitmo as we speak.
Personally I just assume any US Republicans here would arse-rape me at the drop of a hat. mojo2 already has me down for the camps. He wants me. I can tell.
