Epson CX4200 Scanner Driver Install Problem

	I have for the past couple of hours been trying to open the scanner from the toolbar icon. i am using 10.5.8 before i used leopard constantly got "program has quit unexpectedly" when i was using 10.5.6 everything seemed to work but since i downloaded 10.5.8 and Epson driver 3.09 (though it seems i am still using 2.70A) the scanner is a problem however the printer works fine. scanner connection is set to local, scanner status is ready, USB interface, & options none. Thanks for any advise!
