Anyone else experiencing crashes when loading games in MOH:AA? I can't reproduce it on demand, but it always happens at some point.

Sounds exactly like the problems I was having with RtCW (and a few other games). What are your specs? I found the problem to be my Rage 128 Pro card. I recently got a GeForce3 and everything works great now.

BTW - I have a G4/500 AGP (Sawtooth)

Hm, well that takes care of the Rage problem. Is your model a Sawtooth? I'm wondering if the Sawtooths have conflicts with ATI boards and certain games. I'm just throwing guesses out there. Anyone else have any ideas?

Well, it's not technically a Sawtooth (the DP models came just afterward), but I think it's essentially the same guts...

I have crashing problems as well. Are you experiencing crashes at one of those two points:

1) At the main menu, and about to click to the load game screen.
2) After dying in a mission (that splash screen with the helmet on a pole), and then as soon as you click on "play again" or whatever that button says, it crashes out to OSX finder?

My crashes are always occuring at either one of those points. I noticed that sometimes I can play all day without a single crash, and sometimes, I'll barely be able to get a single mission attempt before crashing out. I think it has something to do with other factors in OSX as well (running applications, etc).

I notice that if I quit all my apps (AIM, Entourage, web, etc) - then the crashes are much less frequent, but for gods sake, I hate doing this. I want to leave those apps running!

Ever since the new vid card, it hasn't happened once.

So it would seem that the game crashing is somewhat related to loading a game.

I'm going to forward this thread on to Aspyr, and see if they can look into this, but why dont you guys list what configurations you're using so that it can assist Aspyr in the bughunt.

I'm using:

Dual 450mhz G4 (2x AGP)
OSX 10.1.5
960MB RAM
Radeon 8500

G4/500 Sawtooth (AGP 2x)
1G RAM
Mac OS 10.1.5
Rage 128 Pro

The Rage was the card that was giving me problems (crashing when I clicked on the Load/Save option on the desk). I never actually crashed while loading a game, I never made it that far.

Now I have a GeForce3, and it runs like a champ.

It would seem that the people who are reporting problems are using ATI cards. Has anyone here had crashing with MOH:AA using Nvidia cards?

iChad.. you're not being clear. Are you crashing, or is it just slow? If it's just slow, then thats not related to this thread.

I sent this to Aspyr a ways back. Anyone else who's having issues should do the same. The more people they hear from, the better.

I've had the level-loading problems on a g4 450 512mb ram radeon 8500 w/cinema display

extension sets minimalized, etc didnt cure it
adding more ram didnt cure it - in fact it may be the cause -

set memory back down to suggested size, and set my memory control panel's disk cache from the larger default to 2000-2500

cured the crashes so something is up for sure with the memory allocation

sure wish aspyr would post a map/mod/multiplayer gaming faq on their site, sheesh

picking thru the pc websites really sucks <img border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" title="" src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" />
