Good morning!

That's rather good.

Really good, in fact.

My dad, who doesn't like Pink Floyd, really likes "Wish You Were Here".

The reason he offered was the song so perfectly fit what Waters' is capable of vocally, it transcends the rest of their catalog.

Now, I like Pink Floyd, but I always thought it was an astute observation, and have always found it interesting when I stumble across examples of the same phenomenon.

This is an example.

Creep suits quite a few people.

I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

Except that David Gilmour sings "Wish You Were Here".

So I went down a Haley Reinhardt on Postmodern Jukebox wormhole and have decided.....that I don't like her.

Technically, she's amazing. Voice is incredible. Just insane. But I don't actually feel anything that she sings. It's beautiful and perfect, but just feels really empty, as though she's perfectly copied the material and added her own amazing twist - but somehow didn't quite capture the soul.

Would be curious if anyone else noticed this. I ended up listening to all her PMJ stuff (that I can find) just to see if I was missing something, but I don't think I am. I wonder maybe if it's a product of how she became famous.
