All, thinking of upgrading either the MacBook or the iMac. WoW is all I play. My 24" Alu iMac with HD 2600 Pro can't even come close to Ultra effects.

Looking for machine recommendations (laptop and imac) that can do at least 32FPS everywhere on Ultra.

Thanks much!

Your best bet is to ask in the Blizzard Mac technical support forum here:

World of Warcraft - English (NA) Forums -> Mac Technical Support

There may be some sticky messages that already answer this, but if not, they Mac support people are very responsive.

Thanks Arkham. Turns out that Blizzard and Apple finally got around to updating all drivers and whatever. I'm currently on Ultra settings (except for water, shadows and sunshafts) on my iMac w/ Radeon HD 2600 Pro and Unibody MacBook w/ 9400M...and getting great FPS most places..

Which is amazing frankly given that prior to patch 4.0.3 I was lucky to get good framerates on Good settings. 35-40 in Dalaran on Ultra is amazing for this old hardware.

BTW, new forums are up at Battle.net replacing old WoW forums (and maybe all Blizz forums for other games) at Mac Technical Support - Forums - World of Warcraft for Mac WoW issues.

Any $300 laptop from Walmart will suffice...seriously, WoW is not that demanding.
