Can't Install Snow Leopard Since Disk Does Not Use GUID Partition Scheme: What To Do?

I can't install it because of the message above. I've tried following the instructions to change the partition scheme but this is not working for me. What to do?

OK, I should mention that this is for an external firewire drive.
I'm thinking about doing this: using an external Snow Leopard firewire drive in order to clone a copy onto the other external firewire drive. Will this work?

What do you mean it is not working for you? Are you getting errors in Disk Utility when you try to format the disk as GUID?

I figured it out. I originally formatted the drive using apple partition? rather than GUID partition. I had to reformat the drive completely, erase all contents and start from scratch. Annoying, but hey, I got it taken care of now.

Yeah, Intel Macs require a GUID-formatted partition to boot from, but can read files from the other partition type just fine.

Not quite. They can boot from an APM drive but the Installer won't let you install onto one.
