Nearly everything is custom chosen, only the headset is still original. The goodies:

Frame: Specialized "Hard Rock Cruz" 1991
Suntour XC Pro hubs with GG system (industry ball bearing), PowerFlo gear, Campagnolo rims and DT swiss spokes DD ("doppelt Dickend" double thick end)
Suntour SL crank with Superbe Pro chainrings (lighter than the XC Pro and sufficient for a commuter/randoneur)
Rohloff S-L-T 99 chain
TUNE crankshaft with titanium bearing shells and screws (industry ball bearing)
SUGINO handlebar, advance and seat post (i always wanted to get Syncros ones, but didn´t have the money back in those days)
Derailleurs: XC Pro with thumpshifters
Shimano Deore XT cantilever brakes with Diacompe brake levers (i prefered them because the ST had this "satinized bronze appearence" -> youths inanity)
Busch & Müller high performance dynamo with adjustable contact pressure
Brooks leather saddle

and finally:
Suntour XC Pro pedals

12,5 kg, not bad for an almost fully equiped bike

For the ones that are complaining about the grease gun atop the PB: It´s an original WTB one i got from a bike shop where i used to work. And it´s normally stored in my collectible showcase.



And the Powerbook is absolutely scratchfree, i have calm hands

Speaking of Oldschool, I have in near original condition, as Miyata 1000 from the mid 80's. The thing has radial tires, and all of it's original components. Rides like a dream.

Those pedals look fine! Do they include any sort of clip for your shoe, or do they work with only certain shoes?

My experience is completely with "retail level" off road bikes, so I'm curious.

It´s the traditional system, cages (not mounted yet) and straps. I prefer it because i can wear normal shoes. I know that Shimano has also "normal" shoes within the SPD system but i don´t want to be restricted when choosing my shoes.

@Yose and OB1: how about posting some pics?
