Hey all,

I'm trying to put together a list of European based developers. Off the top of my head I know Infogrames (French), Electronic Arts (EA, German), Epic (German too?), the guys that make Max Payne (name?, Finalnd)...

what is there in the UK? How about other countries?

Any help in making the list would be of great help, thanks

E.P.I.C is german. not mix it up with epic who created unreal ;-)
they who make the "Siedler" (settlers) I guess bluebyte, and "Die Voelker" (alien nations) don't know their name, are also german.
GT interactive (Creatures and others) are from the uk.

that's all I can remeber at the moment.

In the UK there is Rare (now run by Nintendo), Eidos The people who created Tomb Raider, Rage. There are loads of others, the UK games industry is second only to Japan.

There's also Argonaut, Electronic Arts have a huge centre here, Ferral, Lionhead... the list goes on.
There's also a thriving Mac shareware games scene building up in the UK, Strange Flavour and Pompom games are both UK based (I should know

Yeah, Remedy Entertainment (Max Payne) are from Finland ( http://www.remedy.fi ), as are Housemarque (Supreme Snowboarding) ( http://www.housemarque.com ). A number of mobile- oriented ones come to mind, Grip Studios ( http://www.gripstudios.com ) and Cube ( http://www.cube.fi ). Avara ( http://www.avara.com ) by Ambrosia (mac only) has a Finnish developer behind it. And the ultracool Sulake Labs ( http://www.sulake.com ), which doesn't make games, but multi-user environs ( http://www.habbohotel.com ) can't be left out.

And more, but can't remember all of 'em now...

I've seen that MacSoft is owned by Infogrames (french), and I mistakedly thought that Electronic Arts is German.

Are there any Italian or Spanish game developers that you guys know about?

You can add French Touch to the list (the guys who made Water Race).
And Blizzard has been aquired by Havas Interactive, a French company. They are not developing games, but whatever�
