I'm running two Powerbook G4s the fist I bought in Singapore, the second I bought in NY, both from Apple Stores.
The PB I bought in Singapore recently had a problem with the hard drive, which I had to replace. I took it to the local Apple Store, they sent it to the workshop they use and the job was done... at my cost because the waranty had run out... Ouch!
The PB came back running as good as new.
Today I bought an extra gigg of memory to boost the speed of running some graphics I use.
I installed the memory myself but found that both memory slots were used.
(2 x 256 Hynix). So instead of getting 1.5 Gigg, I can only get 1.25 Gigg.
However, when I checked my other PB, I find that has 1x512 Gigg.... So my question is two fold.
Is it normal for Apple to instal (2 x 256) or has my memory been switched?
