k, so my gf got me this vivitar that only has a driver for os9. i can boot into 9 and get them, but that isn't optimal. it *does* take a CF card, so that's a plus, but it's still a pain in the keister.

question, where do os9 drives mount and is there anyway to get to them in panther?

this is really killing me.

I don't get it. Just get a CF card reader. A reader will mount CF cards w/o any addl drivers.

i know, but at the moment i don't have one, so if we can figure out how to make this work, i would be greatly appreciative.

especially since i kinda need these pictures TONIGHT.

Most digital cameras are just USB drive devices when plugged into the machine.

All iPhoto does is look for a folder on these drives with a name that resembles the ones used by known manufacturers.

Seeing as you have a relatively no-name camera, iPhoto doesn't automatically recognize it. But if Image Capture does, no big deal I guess.

it is fluctuating between working and not working. sorta weird. i have only gotten it to load twice now, out of nearly 10 tries. this is kinda annoying, but i can't seem to figure out what would make it work sometimes and not others.

is vivitar really a no name camera? i thought they were alright.

Dumb question: (always gotta check) Is the camera on, and in 'preview' mode each time?
