Loren be careful with the replacement drive you choose. I got one from OWC a UJ-85J-B supposedly for the Aluminum PB, I found out after 2 replacement the drive will not coexist with the HDD. If both the HDD and the Optical drives are hooked up they computer boot up either showing a ? folder or just grey screen. They work fine without the other. I think it is an issue of master and slave that only the apple guy can resolve with their factory flashing. I am down $200 and thinking about getting an enclosure to recoup. I know there's a difference b/t a PB & a MBP all the same. Good luck.

very much appreciated
I found a different course of action I might take instead
MCE OptiBay Hard Drive for MacBook Pro, MacBook and PowerBook G4
Two internal hard drives and an external optical drive
