# of items and number of books

Greetings! Brand new Delicious Library user here. I've been adding my books today and I had a question about the # of items field.

I have several book sets so I was pleased to be able to add all the books as one set rather than having to add each individual book. For the books I set the # of items field to however many books are in the set, but the number of books in my library does not increase by that amount. That makes sense in one way - the number of books on the software shelves remains the same. But the number of books in my library is greater than what is shown since some of those "books" have more than one item.

Is this normal behavior or am I missing something?

It's normal behavior because it's counting the set as one item. I often break my sets up into the individual DVDs (in my case), just so I know how many I have, and what the titles are. It's like the Jack Ryan Collection - there are 4 movies in there, and someone browsing my collection may not know the titles of the movies.

Hope that makes sense.

Gord
