Don't think the GPS works indoors. Wouldn't be able to get the satellite signal.

Would be easier to implement using RFID.

*That* would be very cool. It certainly seems possible, though I wonder if the GPS accuracy would be enough to accurately pinpoint your position by room.

OK, how about it just switches the audio destination depending on signal strength to the respective AirPort Express? If you have 1 AirPort Express in each room, I'd wager by the time the iPhone or iPod Touch changes base stations by signal strength, you'd be in whatever room it switched to.
