Posting from my Clamshell G3 iBook that I put together, running mac os x 10.3.9, my first mac i ever fixed and it was easy as hell to do.., mind you the trackpad cable is broke and the battery is shot but she does work decent. 30 gig HD and 320MB RAM

Good for you! I just put a 60 GB HD in an enclosure for the 1st time!!! .... Without breaking it..

Stopped HDs are never good. I hope you didn't break it. I like clammys. They are cooool.

No its fine. It was my old Compaq's HD. After Leopard comes out I plan to get XP for my MacBook (I don't trust the current version of Boot Camp) so it had no use to me and I wanted to salvage all of it I can.

Niiice...fixing it yourself gives a sense of accomplishment. I'm going to fix a DVD player tomorrow, parts arrived yesterday.

I replaced my 2005 iBook's HD, 40 bazillion screws and all. Not hard if you are patient and methodical.

I' didn't breake it. I'm currently zeroing it out (formating), 2 **** HOURS! over USB (no FireWire). Oh yeah: CLAMMYS ROCK!!!!!.
