Tried sending a photo from an iPhone to my iPad, both running iOS 14.7.1 with no success. Checked settings in both and found that in my iPad, the AirDrop setting has “Receiving Off” checked. When I check either of the other two options, it continually reverts back to off, even though it says “Everyone” in the Control Center. Why can’t I get “Everyone” to be persistent? How do I fix this?

Your help is most appreciated!

Ralph

I’ve had occasional issues with my iPad’s AirDrop settings. Usually if I reboot the iPad, the issues go away. It’s worth a try.

I’m running 14.7.1 as well, and my settings stay the way I set them.

I totally forgot that restarting is always one of the first things to try to correct a problem, but I haven’t had a problem for so long, I simply forgot to try it. It worked!

Thanks!

We get comfortable with Apple products and OSs “just working”, and often we don’t think that sometimes they have problems. I’ve gotten to the point where I just expect to restart stuff now and then.

Today, my workout app (phone and Apple Watch) refused to display my heart rate, though the watch’s heart rate app was tracking it just fine. So both phone and watch get to restart this morning.
