Is 2Mb broadband considered high speed or low speed???

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

I remember when I got my first Mac. A 233Mhz tangerine iMac. I downloaded a Star Wars movie trailer using dial-up... I think at that time I was getting a blazing 32kbps using Earthlink. I started the download, then I think I took a trip to Guam, did my laundry, mowed the yard, walked the dog and when I came back down to the computer I only had like two minutes left to complete the download. Then, I got a job with one of the local telephone companies and I get a screaming good deal on HSI and I think the last test I ran got about 3200 bps. It costs me about $15.00/month. (mind you, if I didn't have that deal, I may very well have stayed on dialup, but I'm not sure) I'm thinking of upgrading to the premier tier for an additional $7.00/month and I should get up to 11000 bps. Unless I'm on MacNN.

DSL at 3Mbps downstream and about 500k upstream. Smooth sailing. I mean "smooth surfing!"

Comcast likes to go real fast and then come to a complete stop.

I dunno, DLing from Apple.com usually brings around 2300K/sec right off the bat, pretty damn impressive to me.

Impressive Budster.

I currently have 1.5 Mb from Verizon DSL. I had Charter cable 3 Mb, but I decided to save a few bucks and drop down. Verizon has been much more consistent and I b a r e l y noticed the slow down. Only on VERY large files can I tell I down graded.

Seriously, I always wondered what kind of connection to expect at a public-type WiFi spot.

Our State Campgrounds offer WiFi access now. That's the reason I go camping, to get away from technology!

3/512 DSL, switching to 6/384 cable for a little while, then who knows what exactly -- hopefully a 6/608 dsl line when we move, but whatever is available will be it.

One thing's for sure, I'm going to avoid cox like the plague, thank goodness here we only have comcast

Argggg! The only problem I'm having with Japan right now is the fact that I'm having massive issues getting ADSL installed in my flat. Plus I don't have internet at work due to a massively paranoid computer tech (no one has net access). Luckily theres an internet cafe down the street from me that has wireless, and the guy who owns the place is cool. Nothing like a nice cold drink and a wi-fi connection after a hard and hot day at the Board of Education.
