Im new here, but thought i would show off my current setup. Im kind of limited on room, because im in my college resident hall, but, what can i do? haha

I've had the macbook for 2 weeks 1 day, and i have loved every second of it!

Yes, i know i need some cable management, but i really dont have much room to work with!

The MBP (late 2008) is on the shelf, the 20" ACD using the MBP.
Now the only thing I want is a 24" LED display (or eventually a new 30" LED :-))

Here's a picture from today:

Awesome. I did some homework earlier, closed the lid, and when I reopened it a few hours later, this is what I saw. Luckily I have AppleCare and they're shipping me a box to send it in for service, so hopefully everything will be fine. VERY annoying and weird though!

I just thought I'd commend Apple's service with the problem I posted about above. They overnighted me a box to ship the computer to them. I sent it on Monday, they received it/repaired it/shipped it on Tuesday, and I got it back on Wednesday with a new (working) screen. Amazingly fast service.

So now my MacBook has had the keyboard replaced twice and the screen replaced once, haha. It's almost a brand new computer.

I remember a similar experience when I had the power-switched fixed on my G4-Cube. They sent me a box and I had it back in under 48 hours. That's probably the single defining moment when I became loyal to Apple. Amazing customer service goes a LONG way with securing my brand loyalty.

- MacBook Pro 15" i7 2.9Ghz 16GB / 512GB
- iMac i5 3.2Ghz 1TB

Definitely. I knew they would fix the problem since I have AppleCare, but I thought it would be a much bigger hassle. I thought I'd be without my computer for a week or two, if not longer, and that they might try to say it was my fault or charge me for repairs or something like that.

Everything went super smooth, and now I have my computer back, good as new (which I really need for school).

Awesome!

That exact same thing happened to my old PowerBook.

I didn't have Applecare, though. Hence...my current MBP.

Yeah, it was very weird. The computer has always had a minor, intermittent flickering problem. I don't know if that had anything to do with it.

It worked out though. The new screen is brighter, and the old one also had a small but annoying scratch on it.

I haven't posted here in a long time and figured what better time to pick up again than after getting my 13" Unibody Macbook.

I went for the 2.4Ghz Configuration and upped to 4GB of RAM. I love this machine! It replaced a 2.3 Ghz 15" Macbook Pro and I can't say I really miss that machine at all.

The Dell tower in the bottom is a headless FreeNAS machine with 2x500GB drives configured in RAID1.

Cable management is an evolving process... It isn't the easiest with a glass desk.

On my old first-gen MacBook they replaced the outer case about 3 times, the hard drive twice, the logic board, the optical drive, the fan and I still think I'm missing some. Luckily I got it replaced with a new white MacBook

Good deal. You'll like it. I have both a Dell Inspiron with Vista and a Macbook Air. God, I can't stand Vista. It's slow and the networking sucks balls.

Oh, and GO TAR HEELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MacBook Pro 2.33GHz 4GB RAM, 250GB HD, SuperDrive
Dell 24" Monitor (Lucky I have that Apple Sticker so I don't have to see "Dell" all day)
iPhone 3G
iPod Shuffle 1GB
WD 1TB Studio Drive (behind the MBP)
Apple Bluetooth Keyboard, Mighty Mouse and vintage Apple mousepad

I'd love to replace the MBP with a faster model, but until they reach 3GHz, I don't see much point... come on Apple!

That's an interesting look. I like it.

I should get something similar done to my Dell. Perhaps it wouldn't look so boring. :-)

Looks more like a decal to me - there's the odd air bubble visible under the foil if you look closely.

Wow - I'm guessing after that you didn't have to make much of a fuss to get it replaced with a newer machine?

Not at all. The only problem was that I live in DR, so I had to get the machine shipped to the US. My friend's first-gen MacBook was also presenting issues like the one I had, and hers is currently getting replaced.

Long live Apple(Care)!

Here's mine together with my Mac Pro 1st gen.
Hven't changed it for a while now but with my new Macbook Pro it was time to change things up.

Old setup

After 2 hours of cleaning (dang my room is dusty!) and moving.

What you (barely ) see on the two pics.
- Apple Mac Pro Dual Duo Core Xeon 2,66 GHz, 3GB ram, ATI X1900, 1x160GB, 1x320GB, 1x750GB
- Dell 2405FPW 24" TFT scherm
- Apple alu keyboard met siliconen protector on it
- Logitech MX revolution
- Apple iPhone 3g 16GB black in a white/transparent case
- Apple mini iPod 4GB silver in dock
- Lacie DVD brurner
- Lacie 250GB external HDD
- Western Digital 320GB HDD
- Logitech Z680 speakerset
- Apple Macbook Pro 15" late 2008, 2,4GHz, 2GB ram
- Ikea desk lamp
- PIP boy bobblehead
- Computer Arts project magazine
- some 360, PS3 games en movies

I've moved the Mac Pro under the table but it's kinda in the way. I did move it a bit more to the right but I still don't like it down there. Ah well, I can always put it behind the Macbook Pro.

I'm not sure what an internet connection has to do with a picture that's far too wide per forum rules.

If you're still on dial-up, you probably shouldn't be in picture threads in the first place.
