I love chili. I mean, I really love it. I don't claim to be a great cook though, so I have to use other people's recipies. I got an earlier version of this book, but it's not very hot. I picked up their chili fixins which turned out wonderfully with chicken, but it costs money and takes a week to be delivered.

So, I'm looking for recipies similar to the Ass Kickin' Chili Fixins product, but made of stuff I can get at the market. Please post or point at such.

My recipe varies every time I make it, but I promise it's hot! I've had friends who like hot stuff crying.

Brown 1 pound ground sirloin (works best if you buy some sirloin steaks and grind then yourself in a food processor - that way you can do a "chili grind" - it's chunkier)

Add 1/2 pound spicy pork sausage

I use a couple of 8 oz. cans of tomato sauce, but if I want it hotter, I use El Pato instead of some tomato sauce.

I also use ground red pepper, cayenne and some spices like cinnamon for flavor.

Sorry I can't suggest anything specific. Best hint I can give is the El Pato. I love the stuff! I almost panicked when my grocery store stopped carrying it for a while! Lucky they got it back!

when i make my chili I use as many types of peppers as posible jalipino, green red and other of the such, i grill them all and peal and chop them very fine, i could use a food processor, but i love my french knife.
some choped fine onion, i couldn't get enough onions into anything
also a can chunky tomato,
a can of Beer somthing crapy,
a can or two of tomato paste, to give it thickness,
if i have it, a can of smoked chipoltlea (SP) to give it some really good smoky flavor.
and a can or two kidney beans,
can of corn if i feel like it.
for meat i just use ground hamburge but from now on I will splurge and get some italian susage,
for spices i use cummin, i think its been a while since i made it last, what ever it is when i smell it, it is the sent of chili to me so in it goes.

I usually make about enough for several weeks so I am happy

See the Dean & Deluca cookbook.

It's late here and I'm hanging out on the sofa, watching crap TV and surfing so I can't be bothered to get up and check for the recipe - but I remember it to be very good. I'll try to post it tomorrow.

I don't have enough freezer space to do that. If I ever get my own house, it'll be different! Yeah. Hadn't really thought about that: an extra freezer, dedicated to things like this.

Wow. I was going to post this today. I'm making chili this weekend.
