It's easy to count the repetitive questions we see every day. It's easy to see things that shouldn't be there in our environment. What's hard is seeing what's not there (but should be).

Why don't people ask:
1 Why should I spend time & money on a computer?
2 Since I have a computer, is there any way that it can improve my life?
3 Since I have a computer, is there any way that it can improve others' lives?
4 Since I have a life, is it endangered by having a computer?
5 Does reading MacNN Forum posts lower my intelligence?

What else is missing from these discussions?

1 Why should I spend time & money on a computer?
Because I've got nothing better to do with my money , and I've got way too much free time.

2 Since I have a computer, is there any way that it can improve my life?
Yes, I get to enjoy all the naked women on the internet, thus making me a happier person

3 Since I have a computer, is there any way that it can improve others' lives?
Yes, I share all my pirated software with my friends

4 Since I have a life, is it endangered by having a computer?
Yes, I don't get enough sleep, 'cause I'm on these damn forums all night

5 Does reading MacNN Forum posts lower my intelligence?
Only when non-registered users post useless sh!t

What else is missing from these discussions?

1 Why should I spend time & money on a computer?

Because my computer makes money for me - my Pismo 400, bought half a year ago has paid for itself many mant times over. My previous machine (Wall Street 233) paid for itself before I even bought it!

2 Since I have a computer, is there any way that it can improve my life?

Yeah, once in awhile, turn off the computer, go outside, look at the sun and smell the flowers.

3 Since I have a computer, is there any way that it can improve others' lives?

Yeah, don't make a cheesy vanity web site and register it with every search engine known to mankind.

4 Since I have a life, is it endangered by having a computer?

Yes, loss of that life.

5 Does reading MacNN Forum posts lower my intelligence?

Yes! Seriously, I'm thinking of giving up posting at all on AI and MacNN altogether. It takes quite a bit of time and while it SEEMS productive, it isn't at all. That time could be so much better spent. *sigh*

It's true Cheerios, more women would make this a better place.
Unless the Machos waste a lot of air time showing off for you.

That really is a good point by Bugs Bunny.

As you can see, bugs is a bit older than Bugs Bunny, but not necessarily wiser.

Ya know, I sometimes wonder why I picked that name, but I guess it's better than Elmer Fudd

I think this topic went astray somewhere.

Does mentioning females always have to derail a thread?

I was just trying to get an intelligent conversation started about the ethics and morality of selling a videotape you made with your girlfriend, until you showed up

Broke horizontal support at $24 this week. If it breaks $23, will most likely test 50 day moving average just above $22 right now. I think $23 can hold - I'm considering buying the stock and selling June calls against it as a possible play, but options volatility is kind of low at the moment. Sector sentiment could be dragging it down this week as well - the market doesn't like the idea of a PC price war, and even though AAPL is technically not a PC, it gets dragged into these things.
