I, for reasons not relevant here, didn't have my car today. I decided to take a walk to a new restaurant that I found on Yelp, that was about 2.5 blocks away. I finished walking and realized that I left my wallet (with cash and credit card) at home. That would normally have ruined my day because I would have to walk the 2.5 blocks back home and walk 2.5 blocks back to the restaurant, but alas, I have my iPhone 6 with me. I went to the local market, which was Apple Pay ready, and bought a sandwich and a small cake using Apple Pay. Sure I didn't get to eat at the restaurant (which would not support Apple Pay), but at least I got to eat!

"Alas" means the opposite of "luckily".

Yes, that was an iOS autocorrect mistake, which I have no idea what I intended on saying. Most times, I just ignore them.

Is 2.5 blocks really all that far?
|
I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....
