Still trying to figure out how iPad handles mail. Does it actualy download mail to my ipad or does it keep my mail on my providers server, then delete them from the server when I delete them from my iPad?
Also, how do I copy an email address from an email to the address book ?

Assuming you're using IMAP email (a safe assumption because it's what most every provider has used for a number of years now) then it's the latter of your two descriptions - messages stay on the server and get cached by the iPad. They only get deleted when you permanently delete them from the server (by deleting the messages again after they go to your trash folder). You could be using the much older POP standard instead, but I doubt it. As for how you add a contact from an email, you should be able to tap the address and add a contact on the next screen.

The only caveat here is you can't do this from an email while you're actually writing it. You have to select the mail from your inbox or sent mail box.

Why not use the Mail app with your Yahoo account?

Only "premium" Yahoo! users can actually send email via POP or other mail clients. Those of us with free accounts have to use the web interface to send mail. So Mail is good for monitoring the account, but not for replying.

I can send email thru Yahoo and the iPad's Mail app, with a free account.
However, I'm using a Canadian Y! account if that makes any difference.
