Just a simple though that crossed my mind. What percentage OS X users use the terminal app enough to have it in their dock?

I use it all the time for things like top, ftp, and nanoblogger.

I use it two or three times a day probably, but I launch it from one of my extra keys on my logitech keyboard or using quicksilver.

Ok, I'll be the contrarian. I almost never run it.

I use it daily for something. Mostly top to watch my application for memory leaks as I am developing. Another great command is fs_usage to see exactly what's going on in the file system.

Not specifically in my dock, but I use it ALL THE TIME.
Don't need it in my dock because I have launchbar, so I'm just command-space TER away, tales about a second.
Use it maybe 5x a day, for ssh to a remote server, or to kill a process, or to clean up from annoying VISE based installers like Stuffit or Now Up to Date which litter the freaking hard drive with CRAP.

I keep it down in the dock just to run top and kill anything that hangs up my Mac.

useful for top, kill, w, fs_usage, ls, rm, ssh, mostly. Also run distributed.net or SETI clients in Terminal. I have it set to launch on login.

Not in the Dock, but in every Finder window--along with Process Viewer and Console.
