Argh...

bought my first new apple laptop today.. titanium 800 with the 32 meg vram..
Wallet is still sore..

Started looking for the IR port, couldn't find it. My buddie's 500 has it, figured mine would too..
damn..

I've got two palm pilots and an ipaq I'd like to be doing IR syncing with .. Well the palms anyway.. Is there an adapter that someone would recommend for me to bring IR back via usb or somehow?

Thanks

So far, no such thing exists for the Mac :-\

But if you had to carry around an IR dongle, you could just as well carry around a Palm HotSync cable!

So the newer PBs don't have IR ports at all? I had deduced from most of my research that IR syncing with OS X was not supported, but (WOW) removing the IR ports is much more drastic than "not supported." Because there's always a workaround if you have the hardware...

I have a PB 400 with an IR port and have been trying to figure out how to successfully sync; guess I won't get to use it.

That's correct, the last revision of the powerbook lost the ir port... I don't think too many people were using it and now apple is trying to push bluetooth.

I have had no problems HotSyncing via IR, it is a known issue that installing SW is not supported. PB G4 550 and a Palm V.
